Despite some bad weather, Rain, wind and snow, We have the Christmas Tree in Berlin's Nathan Strong Park Completed for the Nov 16 2017 annual Holiday Parade and Lighting of the Park Christmas Tree's.
With the help of our Club members, pictured is Commodore Dave Peck, Chris Weir with Ron Harke (Taking the picture). The Tree is decorated with the Theme of the Fox River in Mind. Special Ornaments made from Clam Shells, Fishing, Boating (Red and Green Buoys) and River Shore items. This year the topper for the Tree is a Light House with a rotating light. This tree is located in the north east corner of Nathan Strong Park, the same direction as the Eureka Lock is from Berlin. New in the Park this year is Toy Soldiers and a Santa Chair on the gazebo and Christmas Music on station FM 88.3 near the Park Location, for all to enjoy and get in the Christmas spirit. As always the trees are adopted by local groups and individuals to be decorated. The trees are provided by the ABC (Achieving a Better Community) Group in Berlin, with the help of Berlin Parks.
The Berlin's 31st Annual Holiday Parade on Nov 16 at 6PM is thrilled to announce the Theme for this year is "Games and Board Games". Sponsored by the Berlin Chamber of Commerce, this event is literally a FUN-FILLED evening ! The Parade starts on Main Street (Broadway) on the west side, ending at Nathan Strong Park. Santa and his Reindeer will be there prior to the lighting of the trees, and there will be carriage rides around the park. Hot Food, Coffee and Drinks will be available. The official lighting of the Park Christmas Trees will take place at 5:30PM . The BBC Float is a Decorated Pontoon Boat with many Christmas Lights with a Light House. The Theme of BBC Float this year is "Put Your GAME ON with Boating" with Christmas music and DJ voice (Wayne Weckwerth) announcing the summer excitement of the Berlin Boat Club Corn Roast 2018, Aug 10 and 11, again at Riverside Park with is New Seawall and Boat Slip. Food, Fun and entertainment and of course Fresh Cooked Sweet Corn.
